Kevin visits local early childhood facilities

Kevin the puppet is a new addition to the Education Team at NAM and a big hit with our younger visitors. One of our 3 fully registered teachers, Debbie, has a background with Life Education and loves working with Kevin to make more meaningful connections with our early childhood tamariki.

Pictured here Debbie and Kevin recently visited Waiouru Kindergarten where they talked about the children’s pets, how they make the children feel, and what sorts of things they do.

Kevin and Debbie also introduced the story of Colonel Bubu, a terrier who joined one of our NZ soldiers in North Africa during WWII.

The children then had a fun and interactive session making a simple origami dog to take home and show their whānau.

Kevin has been a great addition to our teaching team and is a hit with our early childhood learners. We are looking forward to introducing Kevin to more of our Early Childhood facilities in the North Island in 2023.
