Rīpeka Whero – Red Cross

This programme is for the following year groups: ECE, Years 1-3, Years 4-6, Years 7-8.

The Red Cross was founded 160 years ago to protect human life and to alleviate suffering. The Red Cross, Red Crescent, and Red Crystal is now the largest humanitarian organisation in the world and is found helping wherever people are in the midst of a disaster.

Key Themes:

• Te Whāriki Curriculum: Children learn through responsive and reciprocal relationships with people, places and things.
• NZ Curriculum – Health – Relationships with other people: Students explore and share ideas about relationships with other people.
