Clothing serves both survival and cultural functions. Uniforms in particular project purpose, identity, and mana. In these programmes students will work with teachers, kaiārahi and curators to understand that everyone wears a uniform of some kind, and (Technology Curriculum) develop understanding of how today’s fashion and textile industries make use of a wide range of materials from both natural and synthetic sources.

Students will examine uniforms on display in the Museum, and compare with modern uniforms (that they can try on).
